Junior SQL Server Database Administrator

We are a well established iGaming company looking for a Junior SQL Server Database Administrator to join our team.

You will be responsible for the administration of databases for both proprietary and 3rd party applications hosted on SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 platforms.

Working under the Senior Database Administrator, you will receive any mentoring and training to help you develop in your role. The role requires significant interaction with the rest of the Infrastructure team as well as the wider IT Operations team.

Key Responsibilities / Activities

• Maintain high availability of databases to maximize business continuity.
• Create backups to ensure data recoverability in a DR scenario.
• Secure systems and data.
• Monitor system performance, diagnose issues and carry out remedial action.
• Provide day-to-day administration and support of database systems to support the data access requirements for applications and key business functions.
• Develop stored procedures, reports and ad hoc queries to support business and user requirements.
• Provide quality documentation for processes and procedures.

Experience / Qualifications Requirements

• Excellent English both written and spoken
• Good knowledge of T-SQL programming & RDBMS fundamentals
• 1-2 years as SQL Server Developer or Windows System Administrator
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience

• Fast learner with a desire to work with RDBMS.
• Strong logic, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work in flexible times outside normal working hours and during peak periods as required.
• Professional attitude towards work, staff and peers with the ability to build relationships and communicate with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
