Logistics and Trade Compliance Analyst

Education and Work Experience Required:

Minimum 5-7yrs. work experience with a business or engineering degree from an accredited university. Requires 3 years of work experience in trade compliance with working knowledge in 3 or more of the following areas: Export Controls, Harmonized Tariff System, Customs Valuation, International Cargo Security programs, Country of Origin and Free Trade Agreements.

Responsibilities:
• Supervise and coordinate the U. S. export process, including AES reporting restricted party controls embargoed and sanctioned country restrictions, anti-boycott restrictions, and licensing requirements.
• Demonstrated experience collecting and issuing FTA certificates
• Responsible for the release of ALL international commercial invoices
• Oversee the transit of materials “In-Bond”
• Investigate any cargo security discrepancies in coordination with the 3M trade compliance organization
• Manage the trade compliance product data harmonized code, country of origin, FTA eligibility, ECCN, etc process
• Manage relationship with freight forwarders and customs brokers in the region
• Evaluate and optimize transportation lanes in Latin America cost + speed focus
• Prepare required documentation for customs clearance of goods
• Implement new regulatory controls to address new and changes to trade compliance laws.

Qualifications:
• Country specific trade import/export professional certifications preferred
• Fluent in both oral and written English and Spanish. Portuguese not required but preferred
• Ability to travel outside the country 20 of the time is required.
• High degree of initiative and drive for success with good analytical and decision making skills
• Detail oriented, with the ability to learn and apply US export and import regulations
